Obituary of Richard Michael Combee

Mr. Richard Michael Combee, age 63 a resident of Winter Haven went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Winter Haven Hospital surrounded by family. Mr. Combee was born June 20, 1957 in Lakeland to James Weaver and Carolyn (Unger) Combee. He was a lifetime Polk County resident, graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of 1975 and continued to graduate from Polk Community College with an Associate’s Degree. Richard co-owned and operated Combee Airboats in Lake Hamilton together with his father, James until he passed away 15 years ago.  He was a member of Thrive Church in Winter Haven. Richard was a certified scuba diver, licensed pilot for small aircrafts, enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece – Lisa; Richard is survived by his loving wife of 31 years – Mary Combee of Winter Haven; son – Matthew (Tara) Simpson of Bartow; 2 daughters – Amy Dunn of Lakeland and Kaley (Jeremy) Combee-Tidwell of Winter Haven; sister – Catherine Combee of Lake Wales; 2 brothers – Jim (Betty) Combee and Bruce (Ann) Combee; nephew – Charlie Combee of Winter Haven; 2 nieces – Jamie (Diego) Novaes of Tampa and Madison Combee of Winter Haven; 5 amazing grandchildren – Angelina, Anthony, Hayden, Rory and Adley. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, February 10th at Thrive Church, 651 Carl Floyd Rd., Winter Haven, with visitation beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
