Obituary of Betty Jane Bozeman

Mrs. Betty Jane Bozeman passed away on December 25, 2020 in Lake Wales, FL. at the age of 81. Betty was born on October 17, 1939 to William and Genevieve Apgar in Crooked Creek, PA. She was raised in upstate New York. She moved to Auburndale, FL in 1964 where she meet her husband, Roland “RC” Bozeman. Betty and RC were married on June 6, 1971. They moved to Dallas, Tx later that year, where they lived for 15 years before moving back to Florida. They eventually landed in Lakeland, FL where she lived out the rest of her life, living for God and serving his children.


Betty loved God and her family with all her heart. She lived for the Lord as her life testified to that fact. She was always giving of herself to help others anyway possible. She volunteered at several schools throughout her lifetime. She continually organized fund raisers for multiple organizations. She even drove a church bus and taught Sunday school at one point. She was a social butterfly, the life of the party, and she never met a stranger.  


Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roland Bozeman; sister Gloria McConnell; brother David McConnell; brother Dick McConnell; and brother Joe McConnell.

She is survived by her daughter Christine (Pedro) Perez; son Scot (Beatrice) Smith; son John (Brenda) Bozeman; daughter Debra (David) Gallison; son Ronald (Peggy) Smith; son David Lent; son Kurt Lent; daughter Rhonda (Randy) Hagood; daughter Star (Chance) Anderson; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother Bob Apgar; sister Leah Armstrong; sister Joan Wynne; sister Beverly Rautenstrauch; brother Gordon McConnell; sister Mary Ellen Apgar; brother Elmer Apgar; and sister Sharon Wadley.

 


Betty was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She truly will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

 


Betty’s celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 in the chapel at Lakes Church located at 1010 E. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, FL 33801 at 11 a.m.
