Obituary of Ted Austin Anthony

 

 

Mr. Ted Austin Anthony age 83 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Anthony was born October 25, 1937 in Bay City, Texas to Otis Doy and Katherine Lucile (Rogers) Anthony. He was a Lake Alfred resident since the 1980’s coming from Palmetto, Georgia. Ted graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and worked in the Aeronautics Industry. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during, Vietnam, Korean Conflict and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, member of the Scottish Rite and member of the Winter Haven American Legion Post 8. Ted enjoyed music, hunting, talking on ham radio and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death his parents and sister – Dorothy Louise Anthony. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 56 years – Fay Anthony of Lake Alfred; 2 sons – Daniel (Pamela) Anthony of Lakeland and David Anthony of Huntsville, AL.; 2 daughters – Susan (Lonn) Polk of Winter Haven and Darleen Anthony of Lake Alfred; brother – Milton Anthony of Huntsville, AL.; sister – Maggie Colwell of Largo, FL. and 3 grandchildren – Zac, Shelby & Mattie. A celebration of Ted’s life will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 9th at the Travelers Lodge of Lake Alfred, 260 East Pomelo Street, Lake Alfred, FL. 33850.
