Obituary of Elizabeth Irene Blakely

Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Blakely, age 71 a resident of Winter Haven passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at Winter Haven Hospital. Mrs. Blakely was born July 13, 1949 in Cleveland, Tennessee to Howard and Marie (Scarborough) Stamey. She was a resident of Winter Haven since the 1950’s coming from Tennessee. Liz worked as a Food Service Assistant for Polk County Schools at present Dennison Middle and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Victor Blakely; 3 sisters – Edna, Cora & Brenda and 3 brothers – Linard, Charles & James: Liz is survived by her loving family, son – Timothy Chancy; sister – Dale Campbell; 6 nephews – Rick (Marcie) Smith, Frank McCormick, Dwight Stamey, Joshua Stamey, Wesley Stamey & James “Bo” Stamey; 1 niece – Cosetta Reynolds; 2 great nephews - Logan Smith & Kenneth (Jeri) Swinney; 2 great nieces – Jessica (Jason) Hinkle & Gina Kirkland and 1 great great nephew – Dustin Kirkland. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday, December 21st at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
