Obituary of Vassie Christine Salter

Mrs. Vassie Christine Salter, age 90 a resident of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Arbor Oaks in Lakeland. Mrs. Salter was born March 15, 1930 in Henry County, Alabama to Early and Vassie (Hasty) Hargrove. She was an Auburndale resident since 1941 coming from Alabama. Vassie retired after 18 years of service as a Handicap School Bus Attendant for Polk County. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Wade Salter (2014); 2 brothers – James Hargrove and Eldridge Hargrove; 4 sisters – Dora Mae Williams, Florine Duke, Polly Salman and Martha Gentry; Vassie is survived by her son – Henry Dale Pilcher; 3 grandchildren – Natalie Cauffman and her husband Luis, Olivia Clemons and her husband Chad and Nicholas Pilcher; and 2 great grandchildren - Marissa Pilcher and Grace Cauffman. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 19th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
