Obituary of Dewayne Murrell

Mr. William “Dewayne” Murrell, age 58 a resident of Polk City went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020 surrounded by his devoted family. Mr. Murrell was born October 7, 1962 in Winter Haven to William Jarvis and Martha Sue (Hagler) Murrell. He was a lifetime Polk County resident. He graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1980 where he was involved in the Band as a Drum Major & also played the Trombone. He went on to graduate from Bethany Divinity College & Seminary with a Doctorate Degree and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Polk City.  He enjoyed reading, computers, playing the piano, singing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister – Donna Sue Bauernschub. Dewayne is survived by his loving wife of 31 years – Sue Murrell of Polk City; son – Matt Murrell and his wife April, daughter – Libby Brandeberry and her husband Beau both Polk City and 1 granddaughter – Ryleigh Brandeberry. A funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22nd at the First Baptist Church, 212 Hamolia Ave., Polk City with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
