Obituary of Wendell Lynn Lewis

Wendell Lynn Lewis, 58, of Polk City passed away at Lakeland Regional Medical Center on October 22, 2020. He was born January 25, 1962 in Lakeland, FL to the late Andrew Lee Lewis and Amy Izora Horton. He worked a successful career as a truck driver hauling paper products. He was also an avid farmer that preferred to be in a field than on the road. He was the true definition of a hard working man.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Christine Oleatha Mongin, Betty Louvenia Sitton, Shirley Lee Tallman and brother Andrew Lee Lewis Jr.

His is survived by his devoted wife Oma Mae Lewis, daughter Misty Mae Raney, sons; Luther Lynn Lewis and Wendell Allen (Destiny) Lewis. He is also survived by his sisters; Tillerie Louise Stapleton and Helen Lajean Jones, brother Burney Delon Lewis. Wendell also leaves behind many grandchildren. His grandaughters; Cheyenne Allee Lewis, Callee Elenae Raney, Cassie Marie Schell, Jenny Lynn Forsyth, Tiffy Amber Forsyth, Lauren Lindsey Lewis, Rebecca Ann Lewis, Jolene Elizabeth Lewis, Audrey Mae Lewis, grandsons; Austin Wayne Raney, Tyler Wesley Raney, Zack Luther Lewis, Steven Matthew Lewis, and Larry Wendell Allen Lewis, great-grandsons; Elias Taylor White and Kaidyn Lee Merritt, great-granddaughter Nova Faye Merritt.

Wendell was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of all that knew him and inspired his children. He will be dearly missed.
