I knew Doug almost my entire life. Got my first haircut from Mr. Mac just before Doug took over. I don't have to tell those of you who knew him but for those who weren't as fortunate, Doug was a true "gentle"man in every sense of the meaning. He always allowed everyone to speak their mind and would only speak his when he knew he was among friends. Most businesses would only help out those less fortunate if they had a photo shoot or press conference, not Doug. I know for a fact that he gave free haircuts to a local handicap man for decades and would never think about taking anything in return, only reluctantly accepting a "thank you" or "let me take out the trash" as payment. Unfortunately I travel quite a bit for work and found out of Doug's passing only this morning. He will definitely be missed but will never be forgotten.
