Obituary of Joseph Melton Pyke
Mr. Joseph Melton Pyke, age 70 a resident of Auburndale passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Mr. Pyke was born July 20, 1948 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Russell & Mattie Mae (Brown) Pyke. He was an Auburndale resident since the 1950’s coming from Arkansas. He graduated from Auburndale High School Class of 1966 where he played football. He went on to Walker Community College in Arkansas where he graduated with a degree in refrigeration & electric. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam & Germany. Joe retired from Disney after 15 yrs. of service. He attended The Victory Deliverance Center in Auburndale and The Haven Church in Winter Haven. He was a member of DAV, Winter Haven American Legion, Auburndale-VFW, Auburndale football boosters and alumni counsel. He enjoyed fishing, collecting things, yard sales and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; dad – Charles Enfinger and son – Geoffery Pyke. Joe is survived by; Son: Charles Pyke of Auburndale, Daughter: Carla (Walter Odom) Roberts of Carbon Hill, AL. Brother: Gerald (Jan) Enfinger of Jacksonville, Sister: Charlene (Ronnie) Howell of Auburndale, 3 Gr. Ch: Cody, Cyle & Crystal “Jolene”.
Graveside service will be 11am Monday, February 4th at Auburndale Memorial Park with military honors.
