Obituary of Dolores Mae Phillips
Mrs. Dolores Mae Phillips, age 81 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Wed. Dec. 19, 2018 in Lakeland. Mrs. Phillips was born Jan, 31, 1937 in Wheeling, W. VA. to Walter Alowishus and Emily Ann (Thomas) Walensa. She was a Polk Co. resident for the past 30 yrs. coming from OH. Dolores retired after 19 yrs. of service as Mr. Jim Gilcrest’s (owner of McDonalds) secretary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Auburndale where she was very active on several committees and loved to volunteer. Always involved with her children in earlier years with JROTC, Girl Scouts, Baseball and being a homeroom mom. Dolores enjoyed needle point, crocheting and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband – George Nelson Phillips in 2007. Dolores is survived by her loving family; Daughter: kathi (David) Soltau of Lake Alfred, FL., 2 Sons: Brad Duane Brennan of Lakeland, FL., Donald Duane (Theresa) Brennan of Winchester, OH., Sister: Roberta Furth of Binghamton, NY,2 Stepsons: Deak (Stephanie) Phillips of Lake Alfred, FL., Scott (Elizabeth) Phillips of Glenbury, Maryland, 3 Stepdaughters: Charmaine Sutter of Erie, PA., Michelle (Albert) Stevens of Saginaw, MI., Chelsea (Roe) Phillips of Saginaw, MI., 18 Grandchildren, 13 Gt. Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 pm Fri, Dec. 21st at the First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd., Auburndale. Visitation will begin at 12 noon at the church. Interment will be in Cambridge Springs, PA.
