Obituary of Larry Alan Smith

Larry (Smitty) Alan Smith, age 65, passed away on November 16, 2017 at Winter Haven Hospital. He was born on September 14, 1952 to Glen and Patricia Smith in Rockford, Illinois. Larry was a Winter Haven resident for a little more than 1 year coming from Illinois. He is a veteran of the Navy where he served 4 years and graduated college with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. Larry worked at the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford for most of his career. He enjoyed his family very much along with fishing, traveling and swimming. He was preceded in death by his Father: Glen Smith. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Brenda Smith, Daughters: Rebecca Beach from Machesney Park, Illinois, Ladessa (Daniel) Martz from Saratoga, Wyoming, Donna Tracey from Machesney Park, Illinois, and Tracy (Chad) Surmo from Oregon, Illinois. Mother: Patricia Detrick from Winter Haven, Florida. Sister: Pam Reed from Rockford, Illinois and Brothers: Randy Smith from Winter Haven, Florida and Danny Smith from Madison, Wisconsin. 10 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.
