Obituary of Mary Virginia Hargis

Mrs. Mary Virginia Hargis, age 81 a resident of Auburndale passed away Wed. Jan. 3, 2018 at Valencia Hills in Lakeland. Mrs. Hargis was born Dec. 17, 1936 in Orange County, N.C. to William and Maggie Lou (Phillips) Owens. She was a Polk Co. resident since 1956 coming from N.C. and a homemaker. Mary enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling to the mountains and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 yrs. - Cecil Ray Hargis 1/22/17; 3 brothers - W.G., J.C. & J.S. and sister - Goldree. Mary is survived by her loving family; Daughter: Darlene (Rickey) Riggs of Polk City 2 Sisters: Nancy Coley of Sanford, N.C. Maggie Garner of Sanford, N.C. Granddaughter: Terrea Riggs of Lakeland Funeral service will be 11 AM Sat. Jan. 6th at Kersey Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
